Easter Egg Appeal Update
Yorkshire Children’s Charity Easter Egg Appeal
As you will know, our chosen Charity is one which is very close to our heart.
They offer financial help, care and support to the Region’s children through School Programmes or through direct requests from Parents struggling to cope.
Their breadth of care is staggering! From funding specialist wheelchairs, to providing green spaces in schools and Sports days for children without playing fields to provided Coats and Shoes to participating schools over winter.
The uniqueness of this Charity is how it has rallied local businesses to help. From builders and architects working on their Big Builds – transforming the space and facilities of failing SEND schools in Yorkshire, to Company’s such as The Log Shed helping them achieve their target of 10,000 Easter Eggs this Easter for every child in participating Primary Schools.
So how have you, our lovely customers helped?
You have been amazing! We promised to donate an Egg for every bag of logs sold in March, whilst also offering you the choice to give your Log Shed driver an ‘Eggstra’ egg. We set ourselves a target of 500 eggs; 441 eggs to go to our partnered primary school in LS9 and the rest to the Charity to distribute accordingly.
Yorkshire Children’s Charity were hoping to beat their overall 2024 target of 10,000 eggs.
The weather was against us for once, in what was the warmest March in years, and yet incredibly, you all helped beat our target with an incredible 720 eggs!
We had the absolute pleasure of delivering your eggs to school last Wednesday 2nd April, just before the school broke for the Easter holidays.
And how did the Easter Egg Appeal do overall? The total number of Easter Eggs donated was over 17,000 – what an amazing result! That’s an incredible amount of young children who perhaps wouldn’t have experienced a visit from the Easter Bunny without your help.
